Putter
$120 60 minutes- Roll mat and start-line measurement
- Length, lie, loft and balance gauged
- Grain behaviour on valley Bermuda discussed
- Sheet printed and filed
Each figure covers the bay time, the operator, the reference ball, the printed sheet and the file copy kept under your name. Two people cannot share one booking; the sheet has to belong to one swing.
Book two station types back to back and the second is charged at seventy per cent. Most players who travel in from outside the valley take this option, and it has the useful side effect of putting both sets of readings under one conditions header.
Three sessions in one day is available on request and quietly discouraged. By the fourth hour the spread in your numbers is measuring fatigue rather than equipment.
Charged by the job, payable on collection, with no session required. Components are extra and quoted before anything is started.
| Job | Labour | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Regrip, per club | $7 | Tape count matched to hand measurement |
| Loft and lie check, per club | $5 | Gauged and recorded, no adjustment |
| Loft and lie adjustment, per club | $9 | Where the head material permits it |
| Full set audit, up to 14 clubs | $65 | Gauged, logged, drift compared to last visit |
| Reshaft, per club | $32 | Pull, clean, epoxy, cure overnight, re-check |
| Length change, per club | $18 | Includes head mass correction |
| Swingweight matching, per set | $85 | Brought to one figure and documented |
| Groove inspection, per wedge | $6 | Edge condition photographed and filed |
| Ferrule replacement, per club | $11 | Turned to the hosel, not pushed on |
Bench work on clubs bought elsewhere is charged identically. Nothing here carries a surcharge for being somebody else's build.
Why is the session fee not deducted if I buy clubs from you?
Because the moment it is, the advice becomes free and the club becomes the product. A studio that refunds the fee has a quiet financial interest in every session ending with an order, and you would have no way of telling whether that interest was influencing the recommendation.
Paying separately for the measurement is what allows us to tell you to keep what you own, which is the outcome in a meaningful minority of sessions.
A follow-up session within twenty-four months, on a part of the bag we have measured before, is charged at sixty per cent. Your old sheet is pulled from the file and the new readings are printed alongside it.
This is the least expensive genuinely useful thing we sell, and almost nobody knows to ask for it.
Components are purchased at ordinary trade prices and marked up modestly. During a holiday promotion a large retailer will beat our figure on a stock club, sometimes by a good margin. If price is your deciding factor, buy it there and bring it here for the spec work. We mean that, and several clients do exactly that every year.
If a finished club does not measure to the specification it was ordered against, it goes back on the bench at our cost until it does. That is not a warranty, it is simply the job not being finished yet.
Occasionally a player's numbers scatter widely enough on the day that no honest specification can be drawn from them. When that happens we say so, you pay for the session you took, and the return visit is free.
The figures on this page hold from June through May. The valley calendar tightens considerably between November and April, but a January booking costs what a July booking costs. Availability changes; the price does not.
Give the desk twenty-four hours if plans change and there is no charge at all.
